 | In 1840 Robert Schumann was finally able to marry his beloved Clara Wieck, after a courtship strewn with difficulties. This led to his 'year of song' which includes Liederkreis, Op. 39, described by Schumann himself as his 'most romantic' cycle. The new release features Thomas E. Bauer, Baritone, with piano accompaniment by Uta Hielscher and constitutes the 7th volume in Naxos's survey of Schumann lieder.
