August Newsletter 2013

Well we have made it to August, after a couple of squally days we are only 2 and a half weeks out from spring. Not to say that winter has slowed Mango down, we have had some fabulous winter evenings since the last newsletter and we hope to continue them on into spring. Mango’s new Friday night music concept ‘Disco not Disco’ has developed a successful following. In recent weeks DJ D’Operator has shared the decks with special guests DJs Glitch and Hysteretic. This Friday DJ James Steer will spin for your listening pleasure, taking Disco not Disco to a new place. The nights at Mango are only going to get better for 2013, the drinks will flow, the music will ring out, the staff will love you, and the days will just get warmer.

GAMES AT MANGO

Many of our regulars are aware of our incredible games collection, and the evenings that go along with them. We thought we would give those of who have yet to be part of the incredibly tense moments at Mango where the bar waits with baited breath as another Jenga piece is removed an idea of what Mango has to offer. On the far wall at the end of the bar we have a wall of games, they start off as simple as a deck of cards, monkeys or checkers and move up to the more serious group games such as Pictionary, Scrabble and Uno. We have recently made some new additions to our wall so old favourites like Guess Who and Yahtzee are now on offer. The games are there for the taking, no need to ask so next time you pop in for a beer, have a round or two of Jenga to keep the night interesting.

THIS SATURDAY = DJ ROCKA

This Saturday 17 August 2013 we are featuring Mango favourite, DJ Rocka on the decks from 9pm. Rocka’s chilled mix of instrumental hip hop is always guaranteed to get the vibe going at Mango. Given the subject matter of this newsletter may we suggest coming down with some friends, having a Two Step Cider or two, listening to some awesome music and playing one of Mango’s new games, Yahtzee anyone...?

TWO STEP CIDER

We have a new addition to the Mango fridge which we are very excited about. The Two Step Cider joins our existing cider range as we just thought it was so good we had to have it! Produced by Melbourne’s own Mountain Goat Brewery (of Steam Ale fame) Two Step Cider is made from slow pressed apples and doesn’t contain any added sugar, preservatives, or bad stuff so you can drink it with your conscious clear. It is the perfect spring drink, not heavy or sweet, just balanced and refreshing.
